Artistic Hangups was name of a brief artwear business with my friend Sandy Parsons. I'm appropriating it here as it pretty much describes my entire relationship to art making.

They were right there all along
I found all my journals, exactly where I put them, on the closet shelf, exactly where I had looked a few months ago. Bizarre.
Once upon a time, in my youth, I had an art career. A real one, with one-person shows, and pieces in major collections and an actual honest-to-god, reportable-to-the-IRS income.
Then I had children.
Well, they're gone. Since my glory days in art I've been a singer, and a coach, and a mom, and a not-for-profit executive. And through it all I just wanted to be an artist. So here goes.
